2008 RPOLL Farm & Minor/Major Ground rules
(to be used in conjunction with the rule book)
Minor / Major:
-
The batting order is made up of all players on the roster, except at
the Major level.
-
Teams may play with a minimum of 8 players.
-
Player Pool will be utilized if less than 8 players are planned to be
at the game.
-
Sharing of players between teams is allowed at the discretion of the
managers. Player Pool (The idea is to play an official game and not
have to forfeit.)
-
Substitutions are required to get all of the players in the batting
order and field (per the rule book).
-
3 coaches maximum in dugout at one time (1 coach minimum in dugout at
all times)
-
Home team provide game balls (2 new and 2 slightly used)
-
3 outs or 5 run maximum per inning (whichever comes first) (complete
the play that the 5th run scores on but only 5 runs count)

Minor League
-
Weekday games start at 6:00PM
-
No new innings after 1 hour and 30 minutes
-
Game stopped at 1 hour 45 minutes
-
If game is stopped, game score is from the last completed inning
-
Major league
-
Weekday games start at 7:00PM
-
No new innings after 1 hour and 45 minutes
-
Game stopped at 2 hour
-
If game is stopped, game score is from the last completed inning

Saturday games:
-
Games in April start at 8:30AM and 10:AM
-
Games in May start at 6:00PM
-
(unless otherwise noted)

A Coach or Manager may catch pitches to warm-up the pitcher with the
umpires approval.
Farm
-
The batting order is comprised of all players on the roster.
-
Maximum of 9 players in the field at one time
-
3 outs or 5 run maximum per inning (whichever comes first) (complete
the play that the 5th run scores on but only 5 runs count - don't just
circle the bases because its the last play - this isn't t-ball)
-
3 strikes (swinging) or 7 pitches Maximum (exception if foul ball on
last pitch - continue until another pitch is not fouled off)
constitutes an out
-
3 coaches plus one helper maximum in dugout at one time (helper not
required - manager's discretion) (1 coach minimum in dugout at all
times)
-
One base on an overthrow - be courteous
-
Offensive coach pitches
-
Offensive coach is the "Umpire" (he/she can always ask for help on
plays that they don't see - just make the right call)
-
One defensive coach allowed in field (out of way behind infielders if
utilized and is not required)
-
Home team provides game balls (1 new and 1 slightly used)
-
Try to have the catcher prepared ahead of time to keep the game moving
(get their catchers gear on them before the inning is over - plan
ahead)

Weekday games start promptly at 5:30PM (unless otherwise noted)
-
No new innings after 1 hour and 30 minutes (7:15PM)
-
Game Stopped at 1 hour 45 minutes or at Dusk and refer to the score
from the last completed inning
-
Field cleared, dragged, and watered after game
Both:
-
No arguing (with umpires or other coaches)
-
No parents in the dugouts (one helper exception for Farm)
-
All shirts must be tucked in and hats worn properly (forward)
-
Make sure dugouts and surrounding area is clean of trash after game
